Browse works from local artisans on display along the sandy shores of Oscoda Beach Park at this summer arts festival. During Art on the Beach, artists flock to Lake Huron to sell original artwork and handmade crafts like unique planters, jewelry, paintings, drawings, and more. Pack a shopping bag and stock up on locally-made, one-of-a-kind souvenirs at this outdoor art show.
Summer Concert Series / June 13 – August 15, 2024
Hosted by the Oscoda Rotary Club, the Summer Concert Series features a lineup of local bands performing at the Oscoda Beach Bandshell. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy live music from groups like Southern Breeze, Grounded, Motor City Memories, and more all summer long.
Movies by the Pier | July – August, 2024

Fourth of July Parade & Fireworks | July 4, 2024
Join us for an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration this July. The day begins with a morning parade along Highway 23 before ending with fireworks that will light up the night sky.
AuSable River Canoe Marathon | July 27 – 28, 2024
Whether you’re an experienced rower looking for a challenge, or an onlooker interested in some excitement, you’ll want to visit Oscoda during the AuSable River Canoe Marathon. This historic race, held for over seventy-five years, is a non-stop, 120-mile race from Grayling to Oscoda. Watch elite paddlers from all over the world navigate the river while you watch from the river bank or get live updates online. If you’re an experienced paddler yourself, you can register online to join in the race.
Smokey the Bear’s 80th Birthday Party | August 9, 2024
Celebrate the birthday of wildfire prevention icon Smokey the Bear this summer. Oscoda is throwing Smokey an eightieth birthday celebration at Oscoda Veterans Memorial Park complete with food vendors and plenty of outdoor activities.
Cabela’s & Bass Pro Shops National Walleye Tour Championship | September 4 – 6, 2024
Pack up your tackle box and head to the shores of Lake Huron for this walleye fishing competition. Forty qualifying teams will be competing for thousands of dollars in cash prizes during this nationally televised event. If you aren’t an angler, you can still join in the fun during the three-day competition.
Oscoda Rockfest | September 7, 2024
Get ready for a full day of live rock music during this festival at Oscoda’s Veteran’s Memorial Park. Don’t miss headliner Josey Scott, former lead singer of rock band Saliva, performing alongside groups like Stretch, Edge of Destiney, and Fate Defined. Funds raised from Rockfest will be donated to assist with the upkeep of Veteran’s Memorial Park, which includes several monuments to veterans, a circle of flags, the Pentagon Service Monument, and a visitors’ center.
Annual Paul Bunyan Days Festival | September 13 – 15, 2024
The annual Paul Bunyan Days Festival celebrates the lumberjack legend and Michigan’s logging history with three days of festivities. The event includes activities like a woodcarving competition and beard competition in addition to plenty of food and craft vendors. Learn all about the tale of Paul Bunyan and Babe, his big blue ox, while you enjoy delicious local cuisine and outdoor activities like axe throwing.
Bigfoot Bash | October 10 – 12, 2024
