Luxurious Hotel Saugatuck Opening Memorial Day Weekend
Huron House owner, Al Heminger, has acquired a new boutique hotel in Saugatuck, Michigan overlooking the Kalamazoo Lake. The Hotel Saugatuck, (formerly known as the Twin Gables Inn) will have the same luxurious amenities guests have fallen in love with at the Huron House Bed & Breakfast. Both properties offer a unique lodging experience for a romantic getaway or to celebrate a special milestone. You’ll be able to relax and reconnect with the one you love on the beachfront of Lake Huron or the shores of Lake Michigan.
The Hotel Saugatuck property has an 8,000 square foot main building consisting of 11 rooms and 6 rooms in the three cottages. All 17 King Suites will have fireplaces, two person Jason Hydrotherapy Microsilk tubs, luxury linens and Turkish towels. Many of the rooms will have gorgeous views of Kalamazoo Lake’s harbor.
The property is undergoing a complete renovation and is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend. A Michigan Historic Landmark, the former Twin Gables Inn, was built in 1865 and has a rich history. It was a brewery icehouse, tannery, barrelstave mill, boat building yard and since the early 1900’s it served as a hotel and restaurant. Like many of the small towns in Southwest Michigan, legend has it that Al Capone’s gang stayed at the Hotel. The Hotel Saugatuck is on pace to join the Huron House as one of Michigan’s best romantic getaways.
