Honoring our Veterans
This Veteran’s Day take time to remember and honor the men and women of our armed services. The Veteran’s Memorial Park of Northeast Michigan, at the corner of Skeel Avenue and F-41, was created to provide a place to reflect and honor the dedication of those who served for our freedom. It is located in Oscoda on the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base.
Most impressive is the Circle of Flags that includes a flag from all 54 states and territories. Currently under construction is the Pentagon Service Memorial that includes two walls that will consist of 8 x 16 inch tiles to be engraved with the name of an honored veteran. If you wish to honor a U.S. Veteran, anyone can purchase a tile. Visit the Visitor Center for more information.
