Fireworks Celebrations on the Sunrise Coast
Independence Day is a great holiday for spending time with the family or a loved one and celebrating the birthday of the United States as well as our heritage as Americans. You’ll feel right at home in our small town of Oscoda this July and the fireworks celebrations along the Sunrise Coast of Lake Huron at dusk are truly breathtaking.
Oscoda celebrates July 4th with a parade downtown starting on US23 at Cedar Lake Elementary School and heading south to Mill Street at 11AM. A picnic is planned for 5pm; bring your own or enjoy food for sale by the Oscoda Lions Club and the Oscoda Rotary Club like hot dogs, chips, apple pie, soft drinks, and more. Fireworks begin at dusk at the Oscoda Beach Park with beautiful views and reflections of the fireworks over the water of Lake Huron.
If you’re visiting us again this time of year, you may have caught our fireworks show already and want to catch something new. To the north, Harrisville has its own fireworks celebration, parade, and craft show. The fireworks are viewed from Harrisville Harbor. Down along US23 to the south, Tawas City celebrates with its 4th of July Grand Parade and Fireworks Display. The parade starts at 11AM on Newman Street and travels south on US23 to Matthews Street in Tawas City. Grab your seats early at the waterfront parks and Sate Dock for optimum viewing of the fireworks launched from a barge in the bay.
