Art on the Beach 2017
Find some solace in the shaded area of Oscoda Beach Park at Lake Street this June for the Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce’s 34th Annual Art on the Beach. The show is a local favorite held the last full weekend in June, morning to evening, and showcases more than 100 artists from around the country. Find handmade arts, crafts, hobbies, and more near the shoreline of beautiful Lake Huron in downtown Oscoda.
Handmade, artisanal silverware with vibrant details and added features can make a great gift for someone back home or a surprise for your guests next time you host dinner. You will also find original drawings and paintings by artists, stone jewelry, and more in this wide variety of handmade wares and artisan crafts.
Besides the art fair, there’s also plenty to do and see at Oscoda Beach Park, especially for those seeking a serene, relaxing atmosphere. Take an enchanting walk along the lighted pathway that links to Oscoda’s business district (where you can do some more shopping), stroll up and down the 1,000-foot Lake Huron frontage, or gaze across the lake on the observation deck. With its picnic tables, Oscoda Beach Park is also a great spot for a light lunch before browsing the wares and crafts of the artists.
Admission to Art on the Beach is free so take advantage of the opportunity to see the works of local artisans; whatever you find, it will be a great souvenir to remember your serene getaway on Lake Huron.
